This week my grandpa passed away and it was extremely hard on everyone. We got a call early Saturday morning and spent the next few days grieving together. We also made poster that displayed everything that my grandpa was. Everything from him cooking, his camping trips, family portraits, and so much more. All the grandchildren were involved in his service which was really special. My three older cousins were the pallbearers, my sister and I shared our greatest memories of him and my two younger cousins sang two beautiful songs. I can't express how much I love him and how much I miss him but in honor of him we all wrote the following poem. When it was read at the service, there wasn't a dry eye in the church. So now I leave you with the poem from all of us to him.

For you are my Angel always & forever

Thinking of your strength over the past two years
Shows me you were one of the strongest men I knew
Now I shed these tears for you, for you were fearless
For I know one day I will see you again that much I know is true

Now your looking down from heaven above
For you are now the keeper of the sparkling stars
You now fly high in the skies, you're a beautiful dove
Though apart, you're far but not far from my heart

For I will not say the words goodbye, for I will see you again some day
You are now my lovely angel with glowing white wings watching over me
Your spirit will shine through the suns glorious rays and I will pray
For I will not forget you that is my final plea as you and the Lord watch over me

  1. I just wanted to say I'm very sorry that you lost your grandpa! I lost my grandma to cancer a few years ago and it was very hard but it does get better.
Best Wishes to you and your family!
